Upcoming Storm

Dear neighbor,

There is a major snow storm forecast for late this afternoon into Thursday morning. The National Weather Service is predicting a potential snowstorm along with high winds and gusts of up to 50 mph.

If possible, avoid traveling during the storm, especially during the peak hours. Not only is the storm predicted to create dangerous travel conditions, staying off the roads helps the Village properly treat and plow them.

We are reminding everyone that vehicles are required to be off the streets in order for our Public Works Department to effectively plow our roads. When removing snow from your driveways and sidewalks, please don’t place snow in the streets, as it usually becomes a layer of ice, especially from snowblowers.

With potential wind gusts of up to 50mph, power outages from downed trees are possible. Residents who lose power can report it to PSEG-LI at 800-490-0075.

Thank you,
Mayor George Pappas
